Ohio Motorists Must Now Register Off Road Vehicles when Used on Ohio Roadways
Date Posted: Feb 11, 2010

Golf cart, ATV, and off-road vehicles are now subject to Ohio's new mandatory registration which became effective July 1, 2009.

With this new law you must have proof of registration with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) for each of their vehicles before operating them on an Ohio roadway. This new law and proof of registration may also impact how these vehicles are covered under standard ISO homeowners insurance policies.  Most homeowners policies do not cover usage on the roadways.
